Steeped in history

A Welcoming Religious Center

Temple B’nai Emet (TBE) is a traditional synagogue affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. We celebrate our diverse membership and welcome everyone to join us regardless of affiliation or membership.

The synagogue building is a welcoming religious center that affords space for other organizations to engage with their members, as well as providing a community auditorium that is used for a multitude of events, such as wedding receptions, basketball leagues and community performances.

Temple B'nai Emet is dedicated to growing and perpetuating meaningful Jewish life in the greater Los Angeles region and are conveniently located in the western San Gabriel Valley. We are also close to downtown and the early centers of Jewish Life in Los Angeles.

We invite and welcome all those who wish to worship, study, or simply want to find a community of warm and caring people.

Please contact our office if you are interested in membership or renting space in the facility for special events or ongoing events.

Join Our Board

We would love for you to be an active part of Temple B'nai Emet; one way is to join our Board of Directors. It's actually fun! We meet once a month and would love to engage you in helping us sustain this special shul!  The only requirement for joining the Board is to be an official member of the Temple and that you can attend the meetings (only once a month: typically, the third Thursday of each month). We want and need new voices and opinions on mapping our future. Please consider joining our Temple and, if you like it, join the Board!

Are you thinking you would like to be more involved in your community. We have several programs that attend to the elderly in our community as well as families in need. Just give us a call or send us an email, it's as easy as that!

Donor Research Internship: Temple B’nai Emet is looking for a motivated individual to help create a portfolio of potential donors from the pool of Temple members who have moved or are no longer active. We are also seeking to expand our donor base from companies and corporations. If you're at all interested in gaining experience with donor databases, research, and non-profit resume building, please email us at with any questions or to apply.

Historic Preservation Internship: Temple B’nai Emet is seeking an intern to document and create appropriate techniques for many of our cherished items. These include religious objects, books, correspondence, official recognitions and more. This is a perfect way for those seeking careers or higher education in areas related to History or Library Sciences.  Email us at with any questions or to apply.

Administrative Internship: Temple B’nai Emet is seeking an intern to assist with administration, including creating databases, handling calendars across various platforms, and converting archived material in digital formats. Please email us at with any questions or to apply.

Student Engagement Internship: Our student engagement interns will engage with local campuses to provide information on the opportunities for both organizations and individuals at Temple B’nai Emet. Colleges, schools and other student groups can benefit from our facility’s multi-purpose auditorium that is excellent for everything from Galas to basketball leagues. Our classroom facilities are also helpful for organizations that need more space. Interns will also engage Jewish organizations on campuses to learn about Temple B’nai Emet through various ways that can include: Service Days (such as painting and repairs or setting up for High Holy Days), hosting an event at the Temple (dances, farmer’s markets, etc.), Art and Architectural tours, or simply coming to services. Importantly, this internship will help identify Cantorial students seeking guest cantor experience. Email us at with any questions or to apply.

Graphic Design Internship: Are you studying graphic design or advertising? Having a graphic design internship with Temple B’nai Emet allows you to develop a large portfolio with one client! Projects will include enhancing the Temple newsletter (The Clarion) and working with our Donor team in creation of marketing materials. Email us at with any questions or to apply.

Social Media Internship: Do you speak in hashtags and share a lot? Do you think about the ways people and organizations express values through social media? Email us at with any questions or to apply.

Photography Internship: Are you interested in developing your photography skills and portfolio? This internship seeks those interested in architectural and portrait photography for use on the website and publications. Email us at with any questions or to apply.

Latino Liaison Internship: ¿Escribes y hablas en español? Temple B’nai Emet is seeking to better serve our large Spanish-speaking membership. We envision our Latino Liaison in helping with this endeavor by translating our newsletter and website content as the core responsibilities. Liaisons may be asked to call or email Spanish-preferred members with updates or answer their questions and potentially engage with our Donor Development team. Email us at with any questions or to apply.

It's a Mitzvah!
